Welcome to Roots Reconnected
Hi, my name is Moreno, but you might know me better as "The Dutch Farmer".
In 2013, after I quit my 9-5 job, I flew to the other side of the world and quite literally stumbled into farming.
Since then I've worked on 10+ diverse farms on 3 continents. Ran a small-scale no dig market garden in France for 5 years (on rented land).
In early 2022, together with my wife and our 2 daughters, we bought a 3-hectare property in Portugal where we're building a Permaculture-inspired homestead entirely from scratch.
Here we’re creating an ecologically abundant ecosystem while creating an economically viable homestead that allows us to live a simpler lifestyle on our own terms.
Along the way we document and share our experiences and hope that you'll find inspiration, motivation, and practical know-how on your own transformative journey to creating a life worth living.
